Rizla Re-crafted:

This month Rizla launch Rizla Re-Crafted, a brand new Nationwide search for production talent that celebrates the ‘Art of the Remix’.

The four city Rizla Re-Crafted tour kicks finishes off in Manchester on Friday the 26th Novemeber, with day and night events that seek to inspire a new generation of producers via a free afternoon masterclass with UK garage legend and remixer extraordinaire, MJ Cole.

The workshop will run for 2 – 2.5 hours from 4-6 pm at The Deaf Institute, a fully equipped live entertainment space, where MJ Cole will host and chair an interactive remix session, with live demonstrations, performances, industry tips and much more. Open to producers of all levels, the workshops will include a practical session from MJ Cole that will demonstrate techniques, industry tips/tricks and general workflow needed when pulling together a remix.

A live feed will be incorporated so delegates can see first hand on how these techniques are applied, as well as, an interactive Q&A session with MJ Cole.

Each delegate attending the workshops will be given the opportunity to enter the Rizla Re-Crafted remix competition, a reduced price ticket for the evening showcases and a certificate on completing the workshop.

Bloc Weekend (for those of you that dont know) takes place every year in Butlins' Minehead Resort.  The best way to kick off your festival season is in March. All the cool kids are doing it and so should you.  No need to worry about the potentially cold weather everything is inside and you get a nice little chalet to destroy your brain cells in instead of a tent. Imagine that, waking up at a festival with running water and a shower and a clean toilet all of your own just a few feet away.  You could turn that dream into a reality in March 2011 at Blocs 5th Weekend.  The first 10 headliners were announced last week to get your mouths watering.  Here they are...

This time last year we were excitedly awaiting the release of Lung's epic "Afterlife" on Alleycat's fledgling label Kokeshi.  Now just under 12 months later and were hotly awaiting the limited edition marble vinyl release of the Kryptic Minds remix of Afterlife out in the next 3 weeks.  We can't imagine anyone better to have added another take to the original and we're sure this release will not dissapoint the heads.Check out the clips below if you've not heard it already...

October is done with and its almost christmas and also Example is nearly two years old.  But before all that excitement weve got november to look forward to.  We've been undergoing some changes lately and some of you may  have noticed that weve not been keeping up as well as we were before.  However this month were going to pull it all back.  The columns which were promised last month are instead coming in a bumper package this month. As well as those we've got an exclusive interview with kryptic minds, storm and others.  We have an exclusive mix from our brighton crew and also hopefully some competitions for you 'cos everyone likes a bit of free shit dont they?  This month's cover comes all the way from Brighton.  With our boy Chunky tearing it up down south.  Look at his happy face.

Now, if you don't know who Ashes57 is then you have literally been living under a rock somewhere, clearly.

However, if you do know who she is, then you'll know that she is a pretty amazing artist who puts on pretty amazing exhibitions of her work which includes people like Loefah, Benga and Ghostface Killah, just to name a few and she also took the main pictures for Outlook Festival this year, which were dope.

So to get straight to the point, she is coming to Manchester! On the 18th November at the Art Corner in Fallowfield all of her recent work will be availble for a cheeky little gander and even a purchase if you feel like it.
