Extent Recordings are proud to announce the launch of their 2nd LP to celebrate their second year running! The '13' LP has 13 slamming tracks from Fortitude, Darkhalf, Sub:Stance, Artomik, Kurrupt, Joe Virus, Sleepwalker, Ugly Meta, Lethal Sector, B.S.A, Cohere and Apocolyps!!!

All 13 tracks are very heavy indeed and are recieving a lot of support from Gappa G (Ruffkut, Stepback), Ashatak (Bassdrive) and John Rolodex (Dread Recordings/ Machinist Music) to name a few! All of the tracks deliver that energy Drum n' Bass is very well known for and the tracks, explains Robee @ the Extent Group, are a celebration of things to come in 2011! He then goes on to say " We have a lot in store for 2011, some bigger signings to the label and everyone who is already on Extent Recordings, has come a very long way in the year since the last LP release ( One Year LP). We are very exited about the future of the labels ( Extent Recordings, Extent VIP and The Extent Group) but we will keep you peeled and let you all know closer to the dates of the future releases, what we have in store! We don't want to reveal just yet who we have signed, we have our reasons but the biggest one is we like the element of suprise! We at the Extent Group will keep [Ex]:ample magazine informed though to keep you all up to date!

Well there you have it people. The '13' LP is set to drop on the 03/12/10!!! It's hard, It's heavy, It's emotional and can be very dark and moody as you wonder into the deeper end of the LP. It's definately aimed at the darker side of Drum n' Bass and delivers that punch that Extent Recordings always did deliver!

To celebrate his set at the up and coming Urban Nerds NYE warehous party Nicky Blackmarket has put together this mix for free download.  If you don't know who Nicky Blackmarket is then i suggest you go and sit in the corner and think about what you've done then educate yourself. 

Giving a 30 minute sneak preview of what’s to come at the warehouse, Nicky delved deep into his record collection (we’re loving the fact this was mixed on pure vinyl) and dug out classic D&B and jungle cuts from champions like Congo Natty, Zinc, Shy FX and Mampi Swift. This was recorded LIVE in a London studio and It’s great to hear the crackle of dubs in a mix again!
On NYE he’ll be joined by mic controllers MCs Det & Navigator for the ultimate old skool revival set, to see 2011 in with the biggest bang in London town! Original ravers and dubsteppers alike need to check this for some headucation, Blackmarket style! BOOM.

This is what arrived in my inbox last night. I would take this as a classic example of American dubstep which appears to have taken the tempo and the chainsaw noises put them through a big shit machine and then spread them over everything that they make turning everything into abrasive, unmelodic and incessant shit.  This E.P would appear to contain some of the worst songs I've ever heard. There is no intelligence to these productions at all. Upto now we've simply not published this sort of shit but I think now its got funny and you need to hear it. Well done if you get throught the full youtube sampler. Here's what the label say about it ...(with my personal annotations in bold and brackets)

    Nameloc is a Chicago based Dubstep and Garage producer who is exploding onto the

Manchester UK has been at the forefront for dance music for a very long time now. This city has helped created some of the worlds most talked about artists to date and still continues to give birth to more great talent in the area. Also not only do you get the original mix but also remixes from some of the best artists in the game from "ZED BIAS" with his garage style four four remix. Plus an artist who is about to blow up in 2011 in a big way the mighty "DUBPHIZIX" who has tracks forthcoming on "CREATIVE SOURCE" and MARCUS INTALEX'S label SOUL R. Then last but not least yours truly gets his hands dirty with my MANCHESTER UNITED remix to get all the jump up massive to the dance floor as I inject some girt and grime nasty one tone bass line. Issue 24 its christmas time.  This month has got to be our biggest issue to date.  Weve got some interviews with some big big names both in dubstep and drum and bass. We dont want to let you know who just yet. Weve also decided to make a much bigger thing of Christmas than we did last year.
