SATURDAY 18TH FEBUARY 2012 @ DRY LIVE MANCHESTER

Big friends of Example, the Pandemik crew  are back this month with their first outing of 2012 at Dry Live in the Northern Quarter.  Pandemik is quickly becoming Manchester's best party for cutting edge drum and bass with last year's headliners including the likes of Dub Phizix, Ingredients Records, Data, Mikal, Need For Mirrors, DBR and Skeptical. It seems fitting that they should kick off 2012 with a blinding lineup by Renegade Hardware.

This month EBK, Amoss, DBR and Cold Fusion will all be descending on the Northern Quarter's Dry Live as part of the Renegade Hardware UK tour. If you've seen any of our previous photos or pieces from pandemik you'll know its definitely not to be missed.   Check some of the pics here and head over to Skiddle to get your early bird ticket.

The infamous Bloc weekend left its home at Butlins in Minehead last year after over 5 years of holiday camp raving to find new pastures.  I have to say the Bloc crew haven't dissapointed in their choice of venue.  Reminiscent of Berlin's monumental club Berghain the Bloc Weekend has moved to London's Royal Victoria Docks just across the river from the Millenium Dome and rests in the heart of the 2012 Olympics area.

The creative crew behind the Shangri La area at Glastonbury have taken over this space and turned it into an immersive audio and visual installation with projections on every surface and a number of purpose built music venues.  Check out the video for a taster of what's to come.  Best of all the Bloc crew haven't forgotten to bring Bloc TV with them!!!

So we're starting the shortes month of the year late so we're going to have to pack a lot of stuff into the February edition in not very many days. As always we've got a whole host of stuff to come for youj in this month's Example Magazine.   First up this month's cover has to be mentioned.  Gary took this shot of Strategy stage diving after the 4th Marka reload at the last ever ballin on a budget in december '11.  If you missed out on Ballin' on a Budget you missed one of Manchester's best nights going out in an absolute blaze of glory. There was so many Mancunian reloads that they only got through 4 tunes in the whole evening.

In terms of content this month we've got an interview with Ashes 57, famous for her amazing artwork and photographs if you dont know about her then you will do very soon. Also hold tight for an interview with Dillinja to follow his amazing set at Soul:ution at the end of January and a pile of the usual stuff.  Gary has got a run down of the month's events and will also be at most of them capturing them for posterity and posting them online to piss you off if you werent there.  We're also going to be starting to hype up for the festival season as our inboxes are rapidly filling up with festival announcements so hold tight for all the info.   In the mean time hope you have a nice february. :)
