BBU or "Bin Laden Blowin' Up" if you've got a bit of spare time to say the name are a juke inspired hip hop trio based in Chicago IL. With a sound thats been described somewhere between MIA and Dead Prez they have a unique in your face approach to hip hop. 

MCs Epic, Illekt and Jasson Perez are the names behind the BBU trio, three working men whose bonds have grown thick since their outset. Their story began in 2007 while en route to Chicago underground staple Quennect 4, an alternative space in the northwest side neighborhood of Humboldt Park. Perez agreed to perform a few songs with Illekt under the impression that they would be practicing the songs to perform at a later date, but Illekt quickly broke the news to Jasson that the two of them were in fact performing that same evening. Not long after Illekt and Jasson Perezʼs performance Epic joined and Chicago saw the birth of BBU. It was underneath Quennect 4ʼs roof and within its close nit artistic community that BBU began to truly take shape and, unlike most Hip Hop groups today, hone their sound on stage without recording a single track.
