Estate Recordings put on a huge show at Deaf Institute to launch the new Skittles' album 'Poor With Hundred Pound Trainers'. With sets from Dub Phizix, Chimpo, Konny Kon and Broke 'n' £nglish the highlight was obviously the man himself. Skittles played with a full live band and even got a string quartet in on the action - an absolute shadow showcase! Estate Recordings popped up in the Northern Quarter to sell T-shirts, artwork and music - including the first ever copies of Skittles' Album 'Poor With Hundred Pound Trainers'. In the evening free booze was flowing and the shop turned into a gig venue with Skittles and his band playing an intimate set - until the boys in blue turned up and shut the party down!

Selective Hearing returned to Joshua Brooks for their second birthday party. Despite Actress' rudeness in not showing up (maybe his invitation was lost in the post) his absence was barely noticed when Lone and Synkro stepped into his shoes, once you add Redshape into that equation you have another great party! Keep an eye on Selective Hearing for nights with Addison Groove and Karenn (Blawan & Pariah) in the coming weeks.

Total Garage hit up Joshua Brooks with a big night featuring Chimpo & Fox, Dom Hz, Oldboy and Rema-D. They're back on the first Friday of every month- well worth checking!

The one and only Hoya:Hoya celebrated its 4th birthday in style! The Roadhouse saw a continuation of their 'secret series' format with killer sets from Jonny Dub, Lone, Blue Daisy, Kid Kanevil, OM Unit, Kutmah and Illum Sphere: Enough names to cover three nights, let alone one! Every one was on point and Hoya once again showed themselves as promoters of the most forward thinking bass music around - I'd try to describe it further but I couldn't, just make sure you get down to the next Hoya:Hoya to experience it for yourself!
