Its a dream of mine to have a Hit & Run night fall on my birthday and, after years of waiting, my prayers were answered! It was also birthday of 'Shinpad' Misell, promoter of the night. He threatened to beat up Indigo and Biome if they didn't play a back to back set. Estate Recordings family was on form too as the mic was passed around like a cheap groupie between Strats, DRS, Rolla, Skittles & Tonn Piper - OOF!

Hit & Run family took a trip down south to London's Corsica Studios to show em how we do things Up North. A live set from Riz MC, launching his new LP MICroscope, the mighty D-Bridge and unstoppable Zed Bias, the rest was a Manc showcase including Skittles (full band), Biome, Tonn Piper, Fox, Sparks, Chimpo (b2b with Barely Legal). It was my birthday too! My memory gets a little hazy from about 1.30am onwards!!

Project 13 and Selective Hearing teamed up for this night at Joshua Brooks and brought Gerry Read along for the party. Unfortunately he didn't want his photograph taken! So here's some shots of Versa and Sparkz, who are both sick!

As darkness falls on New Wakefield St. our last port-of-call for the evening & whole Eurocultured event: Monsieur Toulouse is elbowed out in favour of what was a surprise highpoint on last years' roof terrace, the return of: Mark XTC (Classic House) MC Tonn Piper. An absolute gem in a crown of sparkling artists this year! Out of D'n'B retirement old soldier Mr.Brown (Platoon) & MC Digga D mash-out the remaining 2 hours. Slew Dem!

MischiefMaker hotfoots back to the WeSC stage for Skittles with full live band: then returns to great Black Dog Ballroom Northern Soul All-Dayer before heading to the basement for the most excellent Hot Milk vs In The Loop

Hungover and bleary-eyed, Gary Brown rolled back to Eurocultured on Monday to witness the Estate Recordings takeover of the WESC Stage, along with a few more of the fantastic names that appeared on the bill.

After all our excellent Eurocultured coverage, Gary Brown has adopted a 'better-late-than-never' approach, here he finally displays the results of a drunken stumble around the Eurocultured site on the Sunday of the event.

With only a couple of lessons we let our [Ex]:trainee Joshua loose at Eurocultured with a Canon 550D. On his 2nd day he captured Cheap Cuts, Broke'n'£nglish, Freedom Of Expression, Chimpo, Japanese Popstars & Dubphizix

Last year [Ex]:ample took a young trainee on our ill-fated Gottwood festival mission. This year we thought we'd let 'em loose a bit closer to home. With only a couple of lessons we dropped Joshua in at the Eurocultured deep-end with live acts Robin Pearce, Julie Gordon, Dennis Jones, Troy Gunner, The Feud & Riot Jazz

This year's FutureEverything Festival closing party was hosted by Selective Hearing and Idiosync. Club Academy and Academy 3 hosted some of the best names in Future Techno and Bass Music including Marcel Dettmann, Levon Vincent and Pinch.

The transcendent Hoya:Hoya returned to the Roadhouse, fresh from hosting a room at Fabric earlier in the month, with their formula of secret special guests and top-notch residents. This month they had XFM's finest Mary Anne Hobbs come down as she warmed up for her upcoming set at Sonar Festival and there were awesome sets from Eclair Fifi, Illum Sphere, Krystal Klear and Jonny Dub.
