Do any of us ever really choose the rat race? Unlikely. And yet here we are – most of us rushing to be out of the door by 7:00 only to sit in traffic for an hour, then dashing to the attendance monitor at 120 km/h in a desperate attempt to escape that “you’re late” chat with HR. If you are sick and tired of this, you’ve saved some money and you have a cool business idea then it’s time for you to step out into the wild and here’s why:

You pay a lot less tax

Especially the first few years make sure you take advantage of all available deductions for entrepreneurs, governments offer this perk to encourage entrepreneurship.

You make the decisions yourself

You make all the decisions that need to be made. That gives you a feeling of freedom and independence which greatly boosts your self-confidence! Also, now you don’t have to bother with decisions from higher up that you don’t really agree with.

You’ll be doing something that really interests you

Most people start doing business out of a certain passion they have for something. This ensures that every day you are doing something that really interests you. Not all days will be great, but the good days make up for the bad ones. Take control of your life, be happier

You learn an awful lot

During your entrepreneurship you’ll learn a lot in a short period of time. In the beginning many new things will come your way , these new experiences will ensure that you become comfortable with facing challenges head on. In the unlikely event that you do not make it or you want to return to work as an employee, this will be reflected on your CV and you will be more self-confident when you find a new job.

You can go wherever you want

As an independent entrepreneur, you’re not attached to anything. Would you like to go out for a day and do the tasks you have to do later in the day or during the weekend? No problem at all. When you are an internet entrepreneur you are often not stuck to one place and you can become a ‘digital nomad’ (travelling around the world while doing business).

You build up your own pension

As an entrepreneur you are not tied to a certain pension scheme but you have the opportunity to build it up yourself. You can decide for yourself what you want to invest your future pension in. This can save you a lot of costs and you can go for a different risk profile than you would have with a scheme. We do advise you to start quickly!

You can work with people who you want to

You choose which suppliers you want to work with and which customers you want to work for. If you really don’t like a supplier or customer, you simply trade them in. You are in control!
